Upcoming Changes to Virginia Stormwater Management Requirements 1/28/2011
Recently, Jim Carson & Paul Bernard attended a Low Impact Design (LID) seminar at Rappahannock Community College. The seminar was hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Stormwater Training Program (www.cbstp.org) and its purpose is to make design professionals, regulatory and contractors aware of the recent trends in stormwater management and quality controls to reduce nutrient levels reaching the Chesapeake Bay. These changes are currently planned to be rolled out at the end of 2011 with local jurisdictions given some time (perhaps as much as 3 years) to adopt local regulations.
In short, the new LID requrements will vastly alter the stormwater management designs for development in Virginia. Carson/ Ashley is on top of this changing legislation and will keep you updated as things progress.

Located in the Town of Warrenton, the Pennington subdivision owned by Warrenton Partners, LLC is promoting a new look. Working with Russell Versaci Architecture, http://www.russellversaci.com, Pennington will be developed using six different home styles from Mr. Versaci’s simple farmhouse collection. The home designs are inspired by the traditional architecture of the Southern Piedmont Region and are designed as traditional farm houses updated for the way we live today – vintage homes for modern living.
The homes may be built by Haven Homes http://www.havenhomes.com. Haven Homes constructs custom built homes in an off-site, climate-controlled environment. According to their literature, this method protects the building materials and provides homes that are quieter, and more precisely built than site-built homes.
Carson/Ashley provided all land surveying & civil engineering for this project. For more information, contact Warrenton Partners, LLC c/o douglasdarling@gmail.com or Les Nichols, lnichols@carson-ashley.com.
